For CPA and accounting firms
Subcontract bookkeeping and tax prep support for CPA firms
Extra capacity for busy season and month-end, without adding staff. I prepare returns and keep client books under your firm's name, in your software and your process. You review, sign and keep the client relationship.
- 6+ years preparing U.S. returns
- 4 years subcontracting for a U.S. bookkeeping firm
- Drake Tax
- QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor
- Gusto Payroll Advisor
Where I fit in
The work your team doesn't have hours for
Most firms bring me in for one of these, then keep me for the rest of the year.
Tax season overflow
Form 1040 with Schedules C, E and K-1s, plus 1065, 1120-S, 1120 and 990 returns, extensions and state returns. Prepared review-ready, with open items listed.
Client accounting services
Monthly write-up and bookkeeping for your CAS clients: categorization, bank and credit card reconciliations, month-end close and draft financial statements.
Cleanup and catch-up projects
Prior-year books brought current before you prepare the return: reconciliations, reclassifications, journal entries and clean opening balances.
Year-end packages and workpapers
Trial balances, proposed adjusting entries, fixed asset and depreciation schedules, loan amortization and the support your reviewer wants to see.
Payroll and 1099 support
Payroll reviews and filings in Gusto, ADP, Paychex and others, W-2 and 1099 preparation, and W-9 collection for your clients.
Real estate and S-corp clients
My specialty: short-term and long-term rental books by property, Form 8825, S-corp owner payroll, accountable plans and basis tracking.
How we work together
Your process, your software, your name
- 1
Intro call
We go over the work, your software, deadlines and how you review.
- 2
Paperwork first
A confidentiality agreement, and client consent where tax return information is involved (see below), before any client data is shared.
- 3
Start with a test file
One return or one month of books, so you can see the quality before sending more.
- 4
Review-ready work
Each file comes back with workpaper notes and a short open-items list, ready for your reviewer.
- 5
You review and sign
Your firm keeps signing authority, client contact and representation. Review notes are cleared quickly.
What you can count on
- White-label: I never contact your clients unless you ask me to
- Your checklists, chart of accounts and workpaper standards
- Turnaround agreed per file, before work starts
- Communication in your tools: email, Slack, Teams or your practice platform
- Hours that overlap your day: U.S. mornings into early afternoon, plus evenings
Pricing
Flat fees per return for tax preparation, and a flat monthly fee per client for bookkeeping, agreed in writing before you send work. Projects are quoted after a look at the file.
Confidentiality and compliance
Handled the way your firm needs it handled
I'm based outside the United States, and I'd rather say that up front than have you find out later. Here's what that means for tax work:
- Client consent under Section 7216. Before a U.S. firm shares a client's tax return information with a preparer located outside the U.S., Treasury regulations require the client's written consent.
- Social Security numbers on individual returns. For Form 1040 clients, SSNs can be shared with a preparer outside the U.S. only with adequate data protection safeguards in place; otherwise they stay masked on your side.
- A signed confidentiality agreement before any client data changes hands.
- Work stays in your systems where you prefer: your tax software, portal and remote desktop, with two-step sign-in.

What I am, and what I'm not
I'm a U.S. tax preparer, bookkeeper and payroll advisor with more than six years of U.S. returns behind me. I'm not a CPA or an enrolled agent, and I don't sign returns as your firm or represent clients before the IRS. That stays with you, which is exactly how subcontracting should work.
Software
Tax: Drake, TurboTax, H&R Block. Books: QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books and FreshBooks. Payroll: Gusto, ADP, Paychex, OnPay and SurePayroll. On different tax software? We start with a test return in your setup.
From firm owners
What firm owners say
"Taz is efficient, organized, and always keeps me informed about my financial health. Their reports are clear and concise, making tax season a breeze."
"Taz's expertise in bookkeeping has given me peace of mind. They not only ensure my books are accurate, but they also proactively identify potential tax deductions that I would have missed on my own."
Questions firms ask
Who signs the return?
Your firm does. I prepare; your reviewer reviews and signs, and your firm keeps the client relationship and any representation.
Will your name appear anywhere to my clients?
No. The work goes out under your firm's name. I only speak with a client if you ask me to, and then as part of your team.
Can we start small?
Yes. Most firms start with one test return or one month of books. If the quality and turnaround fit, we add more.
How much capacity do you have in busy season?
Capacity is agreed before the season starts, so you know how many returns I can take and by when. Booking early gets the best turnaround.
What about client data and Section 7216?
Because I'm outside the U.S., your clients need to give written consent before their tax return information is shared with me, and SSNs on individual returns have extra limits. We set this up before any data moves.
Do you do bookkeeping only, without tax?
Yes. Many firms use me only for monthly write-up, cleanups and year-end packages, and prepare the returns in-house.
